Understanding iOS 18 Adoption: Insights and Implications

Apple has recently unveiled impressive new statistics regarding the adoption of its latest mobile operating system, iOS 18. According to their latest figures, as of now, 68% of all compatible devices have successfully updated to this new version since its public release in September 2024. This statistic becomes even more favorable when focusing solely on iPhones introduced within the last four years, where adoption rates climb to an impressive 78%.

In contrast, older devices have not transitioned as smoothly. Of the iPhones still in circulation, 19% continue to operate on iOS 17, while 13% are lingering on prior versions.
